I’m feeling really sad about Pretty Little Liars coming to an end, but the Gilmore Girls are almost back, so there’s a shining light in between my tears at the moment.
Rory and Lorelai are almost here and the trailer is here! Stars Hollow hasn’t changed at all and it’s making me even more excited to get back to the town we love.
It’s not all witty commentary and quirky characters, though, there’s a lot of soul searching too, and tears. We were all so sad when Edward Herrmann passed away and now we’ll get to give him a proper goodbye as Richard. It looks like it will be tough goodbye. He was a huge part of the show and it’s a shame we couldn’t have had this revival before he passed, but we will give him a good memoriam, at very least. This leads to Emily not knowing who she is anymore. She’s wearing jeans and getting rid of anything that doesn’t bring her joy, and it’s priceless.
We were already told that Luke and Lorelai aren’t married yet. One can only hope that we’ll get to see them get married. To me, that’s the only reason not to have them married yet, so us fans can witness it. Once they are married, Lorelai can feel like her life is complete.
Rory, the overachiever, is also feeling very lost. She has no job, no credit, and no underwear. Ever since her final year at Yale, she hasn’t foreseen her future like she did before. She was going places and now she’s just wondering around being Jack Kerouac, as Lorelai puts it in the trailer. I’m very excited to see Rory find herself. I’ve been compared to Rory many times and now in parts of my life, I’m feeling as lost as she is. If Rory can find herself, so can I.
The trailer also shows so many of our favorite characters: Sookie, Lane, Kirk, Taylor, Babette, Michel, Gypsy, Dean, Logan, and Jess. One of the biggest questions is, will Rory choose between her three guys. I’ve always wanted her to end up with Logan, but if this promo is any indication, she may end up with Jess. He certainly has the most screen time out of all of them. Then again, I’m sure the producers don’t want to give us any clue in the trailer, so any of them could still win Rory’s heart.
Gilmore Girls always knew how to pull at our heartstrings but between the tears and drama, they also made us laugh. It’s good to see Luke’s still trying to get his girls to eat healthy, but it’s a losing battle. The crazy eating habits are still alive and well.
Just under a month until we get out girls back! Let’s see how many times we can watch this trailer on repeat before Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life arrives! I’ve already lost count.
