The Vampire Diaries’ Review: Is this a Sign that We’ll get our #SterolineJuneWedding?

It’s going to be a while before we can save Enzo and Damon and now that they are completely under the Siren’s spell, it just got more difficult, which will also make it that much more fun.

The best part of this episode came at the end: the proposal I did not see coming. Sure, we’ve all been hoping for a #SterolineJuneWedding, but did anyone see the proposal coming in the second episode? I know I didn’t. I never really liked Stefan (Paul Wesley) with Elena. I enjoyed their love story, but Stefan, I always thought was a stronger character without her. I particularly liked Ripper Stefan. I’ve liked his character since he’s been with Caroline (Candice King) and I love their relationship. This has been building for a very long time. I saw it growing but it wasn’t until Lexi pointed it out to Stefan, that I knew it was true. They haven’t had the easiest time getting together and staying together and now they are engaged! Is this a sign that we are getting our #SterolineJuneWedding?

While Caroline is having a mostly blissful life, Bonnie (Kat Graham) is breaking. She’s been through so much and it must be so hard for her not having her powers. That would probably make this rescue a lot easier if she had her powers. Enzo (Michael Malarkey) was within reach until the Siren had to go take a peek inside his mind. Now I’m sure Bonnie is in danger. He said he wouldn’t stop fighting, so we’ll have to see how he can continue to fight.

I’m more worried about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) than I am Enzo. Damon was holding onto Elena and now that is gone. He really hasn’t been much of a fighter, that’s always been Stefan’s department. If Damon had to save Elena, he would do anything to keep her safe, but when it comes to himself, he’ll do very little. I’m okay that it’s going to be difficult to save him, that’s just going to make it more interesting. Nothing worth saving comes easy and Damon is definitely worth saving.

Alaric (Matthew Davis) may not be out hunting anymore, but he’s right where he should be, researching lore. If anyone can figure out how to save Damon and Enzo, he can. He may be nowhere near an answer right now, but I’m enjoying watching him figure it out. His intern is perfect for the job too. She had a missing piece that is helping him fill in the blanks. I don’t think he can speak in theory with her much longer, though. She’s seen enough to know that this is more than just theory.

We’re off to a really good start this season and I’m really enjoying the Delena flashbacks. That makes me hope Nina Dobrev will be returning to reunite Delena. We can’t have all these flashbacks and not have our beloved couple be together in the end.
