We went into this episode with both Clary and Jace in trouble. Clary sacrificed herself so Izzy and Alec could save Jace, but was it enough?
While their efforts were futile, I enjoyed the moments it gave us while they were trying to save Jace. I loved Alex telling Magnus that he would be nothing without Jace, and Magnus said he would help. That was nothing compared to the Lightwood family memories and moments. “Three go in, three come out.” That was their motto and it’s killing Izzy and Alec that they failed Jace. I don’t believe all hope is lost. It just means it’s going to be harder to save him.
Simon (Alberto Rosende) did not have a particularly good episode. First, his best friend was in jail and then his girlfriend leaves. That might have been a smart move for Maia (Alisha Wainwright) because she’s dealing with a lot right now but Simon lost his two best girls in one episode. If only he knew he had the one weapon that could take Lilith down. He doesn’t understand the power of the mark on his head. How long until they discover he’s the key to defeating the Queen of Hell?
