Nice and slow until the big shocking twist at the end has been a theme of some of these episodes. And there certainly were some shocking twists this week.
I was not expecting Paul Wesely’s character to kill himself. I had a bad feeling that he might shoot his girlfriend instead and that maybe that was Jordan’s (James Wolk) plan but from the look on Jordan’s face, that wasn’t his plan at all. His revenge scheme has spiraled out of control. Not saying that Eddie shouldn’t be punished for the robbery, but he shouldn’t be punished this way. This was psychological torture. He was so scared that he shot his own girlfriend. I knew Eddie had a good heart and he proved that when he took his own life because he couldn’t handle taking his girl’s life. This has gotten way out of control and who knows what Mitch (Michael Raymond-James) will do when he finds out what happened to his brother.
Last week, I was starting to see Nick (Billy Magnussen) in an entirely new light. This week he’s not helping matters. I don’t know if he has taken someone’s life before but he’s seriously not right. He’s gotten way too wrapped up into Kayla (Danielle Campbell) and I’m very scared what he could do now that she’s walked away. He’s already sought out her father. I don’t know what his endgame is there because as mad as her dad will be at her for the affair, he’s going to be even madder at him. This can’t end well for Nick. He’s the adult in the situation. And we still have to wait to see if he gets caught for Ethan’s murder.
The Hansel and Gretel story this week was the least shocking twist but still has you on the edge of your seat. It made total sense why the FBI had tracked them down but then no surprise when we discovered they weren’t the FBI. Sam (Dorian Missick) is deep into two of these stories and I’m wondering if these stories will meet. He’s got one grief-stricken guy coming after him and then he’s trying to get his money back. Hannah and Gabe must have the money that was due to Eddie and Mitch. Though, I think the money is the least of Mitch’s worries now.
Tell Me a Story has been one roller coaster of a ride so far. It deals with a lot of complex emotions and it likes to leave you with a nice cliffhanger at the end. There are still four more episodes and there’s no telling where the story could go.
I was worried that Paul would not be in the other episodes but the promo for next week quickly showed that he will still be around. I’m relieved about that but I would have kept watching even if that was the end of his storyline. Paul and Danielle may have been the reason I started watching the show, but there’s too much happening now to not finish.
