What Does All This Mean for Varchie?

Varchie fans knew coming into this week’s episode of Riverdale that it was going to be rough.

We all knew there was a kiss between Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Reggie (Charles Melton) coming. I was definitely one of the fans not wanting this to happen. It was all happening way too fast, even though the writers have been foreshadowing this since the beginning of the season. Reggie has been there for her but that doesn’t mean it’s time for Veronica to move on. It took Rory an entire season to move on from Jess.

I do like Reggie and maybe at some point, I might be okay with this, but it’s only been a few episodes.

Charles spoke to Entertainment Weekly and says the writers told him about the budding Veggie relationship before season three started. He thinks fans will learn to accept and even like this new relationship. He also admits to not spending much time on social media, so has no idea what Varchie fans are saying.

Putting the Veggie relationship aside, is Archie (K.J. Apa) even alive? He looks dead at the end of this week’s episode. But can the writers really kill him off when the show is based on Archie comics? We were told there was a major main character death coming in episode nine. Was that just a ploy for big shock value? Hopefully, next week’s episode will clear this up.

Charles hints at Archie not being happy in his interview with EW, so I’m crossing my fingers of that being a sign that Archie will be okay.

Roberto tweeted the cast for the Heathers musical and Archie is on it! I guess the writers were just trying to give us a big scare.

Varchie can still be endgame, let’s not lose hope. How are you feeling about your favorite couple right now? Share your thoughts in the comments or tweet me @MandyTTCarr!
