The final episodes of Shadowhunters have begun! The premiere of season 3B was pretty intense. It’s a lot of gloom and doom and a lot of just trying to figure out how to move on after Clary is gone. But as we know, Clary is alive, she’s not quite well, being trapped with her demonic brother, but she is alive.
They aren’t just dealing with the aftermath of Clary, Magnus is trying to figure out how to live as a mortal now. Sadly, this is the beginning of the end for the characters we love, but we can enjoy every moment before we have to say goodbye. First, let’s relive the six best and most shocking moments from the premiere:
6. Human Magnus
I think we took it for granted that Magnus used to use magic to give him his look. Now, he’s just like the rest of us having to put on his own eyeliner. Magnus is every girl when their significant other tells them they don’t have to wear make-up. We know we don’t have to, but we want to.

5. More Human Magnus
I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to go from being a powerful immortal warlock to a mortal with no powers. Alec is being the understanding and caring BF we all want. Alec is right, Magnus has spent so long taking care of everyone else, it’s time he lets people take care of him. This is new territory for Malec, and I know their relationship is strong enough to get through this. It will also be nice to see how they grow because of it.
4. Magnus’ strength comes from within
Yeah, I know I’ve noted three moments so far, and all of them have to do with Magnus, but let’s face it, he had some great moments. I was very impressed when hid the location of Madzie. I get that he has a lot of memories, but that was super intense. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t have his powers, he will do anything for the people he cares about. These scenes proved that he’s not out of this fight.

3. Parabatai Moment
It broke my heart to see Jace so lost with losing Clary. I thought my heart couldn’t hurt anymore. Then Alec said, “if I lost you, I’d be lost too.” This is one of my fave relationships on TV. It’s not a romantic one, but they truly care for each other and would do anything for each other.

2. Papa Luke found Clary!
Luke may seem a little crazy, but he’s totally on to something! I was in disbelief at the end of season 3A. There was no way we could have a show without Clary. I was absolutely stunned. So stunned I didn’t cry. That’s only happened to me a few times before, where I would normally cry but I was so shocked or in disbelief, I couldn’t. Clearly, Luke was feeling the same way. He got straight to work to finding Clary. And he did! This moment made me so happy! But at the same time, frustrated because I just wanted Jace to believe him.

1. Clary and Jonathan are One
We already knew Lilith was linking them, but we didn’t know if it worked. Now we do, and Clary had to find out by almost dying. If being trapped with your demonic brother isn’t bad enough, now he can only be killed if she dies too. While this shouldn’t have been as shocking, the way the writers illustrated this was shocking. And definitely left me asking, now what?
