Thankfully, what happens in Vegas, didn’t stay in Vegas. We got all the deets.
We finally got the Vegas flashback episode we’ve all been waiting for and it didn’t disappoint, but it wasn’t at all what I was expecting.
Before I dive into Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Olivia (Samantha Logan), I have to take a moment to talk about Simone (GeffriMaya) and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling). They got married! I truly thought that something would change their minds before they got to the alter or at least before they went through with it, but no, they are officially, “man and wife.”
This isn’t the first TV show to marry a teenage couple. Hailey and Nathan are an all-time favorite ship from One Tree Hill and while they had many ups and downs, they had a wonderful love story.
Simone and Jordan getting married is making me re-think some of the things that have happened this season so far.
If it wasn’t for Simone and Jordan getting married, Olivia and Spencer may never have figured out how they felt for each other. Simone and Jordan’s vows could have seriously written those vows for them. It told the story of their friendship.
I loved the flashbacks. These were all the moments that made me ship them in the first place.
Then, Spencer said, “I love you.” I was thrilled and thinking about time, but that was short-lived because then I thought of Layla’s (Greta Onieogou) and Asher’s (Cody Christian) hearts breaking. Especially, Layla. Spence may not have been currently with Layla but that doesn’t change the fact that this is the second time Liv has betrayed her. I love Liv, but Layla seriously deserves better. She’s been through so much and I hate to see her hurting.
Spence and Liv was not the only story we got caught up with. We saw how PJ (Ray Campbell) stole Patience’s (Chelsea Tavares) song. And did the writers think they could change Layla’s dad, and we wouldn’t notice?
First, I can’t believe that he was waisting Patience’s talent on playing bubble gum pop. She has so much talent. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Britney Spears fan, but this is a different time, and Patience has a different sound that’s all her own.
To top that off PJ gave it to his girlfriend who is married. I hate that Patience got wrapped up in all of this. I’m glad that she got out.
We didn’t just get caught up on what happened over the summer. We got more great scenes between Layla and Coop (Bre-Z). This is a friendship I’m loving. I hope that Layla and Coop can continue their friendship. They are both on the outs with Spence, so maybe they can lean on each other and bond even more. Just, please, All American writers, give us more!
