If you were wondering what would connect The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow for a four-way crossover, I have your answer, a big bad.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the big bad for the big crossover will be DC Comics’ Dominators.
Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow EP Marc Guggenheim said:
“This year, for our mega ‘Arrowverse’ crossover, we’re taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who’d previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes. We’re using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters.”
EW explained that in Invasion!: “the Dominators are a technologically advanced alien race who form a coalition with various other races to invade Earth all in the name of eliminating the threat posed by unpredictable metahumans.”
Plus, the Daxamates were one of the races in the coalition. Supergirl just so happens to have a new arrival from Daxam, Mon El (Chris Wood).
This seems like a great enemy for Supergirl and even Legends of Tomorrow and I might be able to accept it for The Flash, but Arrow? Granted, Arrow brought in a lot of magic but I thought they were supposed to be going back to basics? An alien enemy doesn’t seem to be a good way to do that.
But I guess a big bad for all four shows is a good way to have the characters join forces. Might be time for me to watch Legends of Tomorrow, so I can get ready for the four-way crossover.
