Fish Mooney’s storyline has really been heating up in the last few episodes. But after she’s shown how well she can weasel herself out of a bad situation, Jada Pinkett Smith announced she won’t be returning after this season.
Friday morning Jada, 43, announced on ‘Live with Kelly and Michael’ that she wouldn’t be returning for season two.
“I signed for a year and the year is up. But, there are some great things coming ahead on ‘Gotham’, believe you me, there’s a lot of good stuff coming,” Jada told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
According to Variety, Fish is not taken from the Batman comics. “But her scene-stealing performance has won its share of admirers, which could make killing Fish just as controversial as offing a canonical Batman baddie.”
I agree. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Fish when ‘Gotham’ first started, but after her plan to overthrow Falcone failed, I’ve really enjoyed how she’s persevered with everything that has happened since.
I’ve been very impressed with what Fish has been able to do, pull herself out of the basement and become the righthand woman of Dr. Dullmacher. It’s all been pretty incredible to watch.
I would be upset if they killed her off, but if they are going to kill Fish, it has to be an epic death.
I’m sad to see Jada go, but I’m excited to see the great stuff that she was referring to in her interview.
