We left off on a pretty big cliffhanger last week on Shadowhunters. I didn’t like that Lilith went to see Magnus. I didn’t want him to be in harm’s way but it was much worse than that.
Lilith had landed on Magnus’s (Harry Shum Jr.) doorstep to find a way to take away Jace’s (Dominic Sherwood) love for Clary (Katherine McNamara). If only Magnus knew what he was doing. I’m wasn’t 100 percent sure if her plan would succeed. I kept telling myself that if it does, they will overcome this. Elena and Damon survived Elena erasing her memories, why can’t Clace survive this? Now that Jace’s feelings for Clary are gone, I still believe they can fall in love again, but that doesn’t mean this couple needs one more obstacle to overcome. It’s a spell, and as Bonnie says, there’s always a loophole. I realize I’m mixing lore from different TV shows, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
While two couples are having a rocky time, Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) is going on a first date, with a mundane. She seriously didn’t think this through, because when she was asked about work, she panicked and said she designs jewelry. Still, there might be a second date.
Simon (Alberto Rosende), on the other hand, may need protecting, or at least saving. I love that Jace took an interest and wanted to help Simon. They always have amazingly awkward moments together. If Jace didn’t get involved, we probably would have waited a long time before we found out what Kyle (Chai Hansen) was. I knew he was something. He healed way too quickly. It doesn’t surprise me that he’s a werewolf because he knew Luke (Isaiah Mustafa). Turns out, he’s from a secret society of wolves, and he’s here to help Simon. When Simon found out the truth, he was not happy. It’s moments like these that make me love Simon. He really doesn’t care what anyone is, he values honesty. Kyle knew so much about him, but he didn’t catch the thing about honesty. That would have worked better. But at least Simon has someone helping him.
