Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists may not have Hannah, Emily, Aria or Spencer, but it certainly feels like the world of PLL. We’re now on the other coast, but Beacon Heights feels very similar to Rosewood. It’s the perfect setting for the next chapter. And luckily we have Mona and Ali along for the ride too.
Eva (Sofia Carson), Caitlin (Sydney Park) and Dylan (Eli Brown) are the ones Nolan is manipulating. The three look like a lot like our four favorite liars did at the beginning of PLL. They all have secrets that Nolan is holding against them and they all desperately want to break free.
The school is also under an intensive security system. You can’t go anywhere without your every move being watched. Nolan’s mom, Claire (Kelly Rutherford), is the dean and has some high expectations for her son and the school. The casting was perfect for Kelly to play this role. I hope we get to see a lot of her.
It’s hard to say too much about the premiere without spoiling anything. There are a lot of plot twists to enjoy and that’s all before someone dies. I still love Mona and I’m intrigued by Ava, Caitlin and Dylan, and especially Nolan. If we fall in love with these characters like we did with our favorite liars, it’s safe to say we’re going to love the show. The plot has all the similarities to PLL that we love. I can’t wait to see what happens in episode two.
