Since day one of Younger, we’ve all wondered how long Liza could keep her secret. Most of the people closest to her, know now, but the world didn’t know yet, and neither did Diana. This was a game-changing episode for the series. Where do they go from here?
We all knew that Liza’s (Sutton Foster) secret would get out, but we never knew how. I couldn’t have imagined it being PaulineĀ (Jennifer Westfeldt), but when she found out the truth about Liza, I was very worried that she would be the one.
At this point, we almost expect Liza to weasel her way out of the secret getting out. She’s done it so many times before, and we are accustomed to it just being her little white lie. In season six, the writers decided it was time for her secret to come out. Maybe the writers are winding down and this is the moment it starts.
One of my favorite relationships on the show is Diana (Miriam Shor) and Liza. Their relationship has grown so much since season one. I love them even more now. Miriam is such a great actor, but this is the best I’ve seen her. Diana was so hurt and betrayed. It showed how much she cares for Liza. I’m glad Diana was able to find a way to move forward. This story arc for the episode proved to give us some truly amazing scenes. The writers gave us exactly what we’ve been waiting for this entire time, but what’s next?
Kelsey (Hilary Duff) has not had an easy go of things since taking over as publisher and this will be one more thing she will have to overcome. How will Liza and Kelsey’s partnership and friendship be tested? I’ve loved watching the tough decisions that Kelsey has had to make this season. The writers have truly capitalized on the powerful women on this show. As nervewracking as it to see what happens next, I’m looking forward to it.
The writers are keeping the hope alive for Team Josh (Nico Tortorella) fans. We didn’t see much of Josh in this episode, but the few lines he had, showed the strong relationship they have, and how much he still cares for her. The love triangle is alive and well, and we probably won’t get an answer until the final episode.
How do Charles (Peter Hermann) and Liza move forward? They were about to move in together before Pauline blew everything up.
There’s a lot to navigate in the final episodes of the season. How different will Younger look now that everyone knows Liza’s secret?
