Tucker walking down to his basement is giving me serious Pretty Little Liars dollhouse vibes. Paul Wesley’s character has some serious plans for Olivia, and it’s really starting to creep me out.
The Sleeping Beauty fairytale is dated. No one would ever think of writing that today. It’s bizarre that a prince would kiss you without consent to wake you up. This version seems more accurate because it’s against your will.
How does someone get driven to kidnap a woman instead of just talking to her? I want to know how Tucker (Paul) became such a psycho.
Episode two of the second season of Tell Me a Story delves more into these twisted tales and makes me want to know more about how these characters got to where they are.
We knew Beau (Eka Darville) needed a temporary job, but it appears he was a police officer and went to Internal Affairs because of something he saw. It seems like he did the right thing, but now he’s getting punished for it. Not just from the leave of absence but by his fellow officers, too. I’m looking forward to finding out more about Beau’s past.
Another part of The Beauty and the Beast storyline I’m enjoying is seeing Beau and Ashley’s (Natalie Alyn Lind) chemistry together. Clearly, if it goes as the fairytale does, they end up together, but the writers are doing a good job making it an enjoyable journey, even if we know where it’s headed. But these are twisted fairytales, so those turns should be quite good and might not lead to where we expect.
I didn’t know Natalie before this show, but she’s very talented. Her character is a teenager, popstar and was almost killed. That’s a lot. I’ve heard former pop stars talk about their days of fame, and it really messed with them. She’s not only a star. She had her life threatened.
You feel the rage, the fear, and confusion in her performance. It may be my favorite storyline so far. I get excited every time we go back to this arc.
This week’s episode delved more into the Cinderella story. I was wrong when I thought Jackson (Matt Lauria) was Cinderella. It is Simone (Ashley Madekwe). She has a stepmother to boot and two weird stepbrothers. Who talk over each other and sometimes even speak at the same time.
Sadly, Simone’s father has died, and it may have been foul play, according to her godmother, Cora (Julia Campbell). Simone has been on the outs with her father for 10 years because of her stepmother, Veronica (Garcelle Beauvais), who is very suspicious.
Veronica spoke about how her late husband liked cobbler, and Simone said he hated cobbler. Veronica got mad and kicked Simone out of her own father’s funeral. Clearly, the woman didn’t know the man she married very well. There’s definitely more to the story here, and I can’t wait to see it unravel.
I also want to know why Tucker is so obsessed with Olivia (Danielle Campbell) when he has a hot lawyer fiancee, Maddie (Odette Annable). Is this part of his writing technique? Has he done this before? What drew him to do this? It started with stalking, and now he’s kidnapped her and is keeping her in his basement.
It was very creepy when he laid next to her, smiling after he drugged her. Is Paul really trying this hard to get away from sweet Stefan? He was a lowlife in season one, but this goes way beyond.
He’s nailing it, for sure. He’s creeping me the F out.
I do wish we knew a little more about Olivia, though. I know the talent Danielle has, and maybe we’ll see that moving forward, but we haven’t seen much of her yet. I’m extremely excited that Danielle and Paul have a storyline together this season. I’m still here for it, but I’m very creeped out.
I can’t wait to see where all these twisted fairytales are going. They all have their own elements to enjoy.
