‘Arrow’ Review: Oliver Has a New Role to Play for Team Arrow

I’m still not sold on John being the Green Arrow but I really liked the new role that Oliver took in this episode. And of course, I was in love with all of the Olicity scenes.

I’m still waiting for the day that Oliver (Stephen Amell) will be the Green Arrow again. It’s just not right. I get that he doesn’t want to be in the field because he wants to stay safe for William (Jack Moore) and the FBI is after him. But the FBI is still on his trail and the team’s trail so I don’t think it makes a difference. I really hope we aren’t going to go through most of the season with John (David Ramsey) being the Green Arrow. I like John but he has his own role to play.

I’m worried about the team under John’s leadership. He’s not well at the moment. The team could have found another way to utilize him but taking some sort of drug to stop the tremors is not the answer. He’s putting the team at series risk. Rene (Rick Gonzalez) already almost died. John will never forgive himself if he lets someone die.

I really like that Rene is stepping up for the team. He can tell that something is not right with John. He’s right on so many levels. John is freezing in the field on top of his tremor issues. I think the freezing is caused by the tremor. If not the drug he’s taking to cover up the tremor, then the injury has messed with his mind.

Oliver is finding it hard to stay out of it all. It was funny to see Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to be the one running out on him for a change. Of course, Oliver couldn’t let Felicity go in alone on her mission but his overprotectiveness messed it up, at first. I liked him being the one over the intercom for a change. He was better than I would have thought. I think stepping away and playing a different role might be good for him. When he does finally come back as the Green Arrow, and writers, I’m telling you he has to, he’ll be a better leader for it.

Unfortunately, even though it seemed like Felicity saved the day, she played right into the enemies hands. I don’t know if I’m more worried about his next move or the fact that Felicity’s digital fingerprints are on it. Oliver is definitely going to have to be back in the game soon.
